The A.V. Club Lists 15 Unsung Heroes of Hip-Hop

Its undeniable that the early 90's were one of the most exciting and progressive times in the short history of hip-hop. With the modern wave of mainstream hip-hop stars, we can only hope that the pendulum is going to swing back towards real hip-hop. After Swift opened up for Wu-Tang Clan at the Sherman Theater, I personally have faith that the youth is interested in real hip-hop. Either way, this article from the A.V. Club, which is part of The Onion, takes a look at 15 pioneering hip-hop artist and groups that never reached their full potential in the public sphere. Among them are the Digable Planets, Arrested Development and Count Bass D. Check out this classic video from the Digable Planets:
